I cannot delete a 0 byte file
Fri, 06/04/2010 - 12:26 — TomProblem: You have a file on your disk. You have deleted it, but it still is there, and saying it takes 0 bytes. If you delete it, Windows tell you that "Could not find this item. This is no longer located in … Verify the item's location and try again."
Corrin the halfling
Sun, 03/21/2010 - 16:40 — TomCorrin was the first DnD 4E character i made as a player, not a dungeon master. I wasn't really keen on using hours to find a name, so i used the random name generator in Wotc's Character Builder.

Personality: Corrin takes nothing serious, and maintain a cheery outlook even in the grimmest situations. He is obsessive curious and often takes unnecessary risks, much to the irritation of his adventuring party, who relies on him to keep them healed. Read more »
Kiane of Messantia
Sun, 03/21/2010 - 16:00 — TomSlave-handler/ Bounty Hunter/ Profiteer

"The irony", thought Kiane. As a bounty hunter, she had sent many a person to the galley, now it was her who sat by the oars. Her thoughts led her to her recent "partner" and his smile when she recognized his betrayal. If she ever returned, she would give Rajin a new smile, one hand length below his chin. Read more »
Proposed achievement for Star Wars - The Force Unleashed
Sat, 02/27/2010 - 19:44 — Tom
Who didn't hum along when playing Darth Vader in the tutorial mission of The Force Unleashed? I haven't played this game myself, but i spent a few hours watching my friends playing.
IWNet sucks!
Sat, 02/27/2010 - 18:11 — Tom
Another day and another game of Modern Warfare 2. I have joined a game, just to get immediately kicked out, because I am "unable to connect to host". What? What?! I don't care, I joined a random server… So I enter the game again, and wait another 59 seconds. And I get kicked out again, this time because it wasn't able to make me host. The third time's the charm, I say, and press the "Join a random Team Deathmatch" button again. 59 more seconds to wait… At 3 seconds to game start, IWNet kicks the five top people, then merges us with another server, and I have to wait another 59 seconds. I am getting a bit annoyed by now, so I walk away to make myself some tea. When I return, the map is finally loading. Yay! Read more »
Thought-experiment about using guns as home defense
Tue, 01/26/2010 - 18:14 — Tom
Disclaimer: Yes, this is an overly simplification of how a real situation would occur. But it is still a bit more advanced than the pro-guns "Gun = Protection". Not that any of this really matters at all, I live in Norway, not the States. Let them kill each other over there if they really want to…

Thoughts about Modern Warfare 2
Wed, 11/18/2009 - 13:25 — Tom
Single player
The least we expect from any sequel is that it is equally great as its predecessor. In that regard, Modern Warfare 2 fails by a few points. With an equally well-done story and marginally better graphics than CoD4: Modern Warfare, MW2 have taken a marginally step backwards in game play. The big word is action! Too much action! Almost every level is big levels where enemies constantly rush at you from all sides, while your teammates are virtually useless at hitting a barn door from two feet. The result is that you are constantly running around with a red screen (your screen turn bloody red when you are close to death) hoping to find a place to hide from the bullets, only to die in melee with an enemy as the four teammates surrounding you is unable to shoot him down. Seriously, I've seen four teammates shooting in the general direction of an enemy charging over an open field and not hitting him a single time. Random spraying should have higher probability of hitting!
A related pet peeve of mine is the removal of leaning. Without this I find the game a lot more difficult, as instead of revealing only about 10% of my body around the corner, I have to make 50% of my body a living target. And increasing the chance of the enemy spotting me before I spot them by 100%...
Multiplayer
If you enjoyed the last game's multiplayer, then you will probably enjoy this one as well. New levels, more perks and customizable stuff, and some useless graphical name-tag stuff. So far I love this part of the game, except all the 10 seconds game-freezes every time the game changes host. Read more »
- Genser: 400 kr
- Sokker: 30 kr
- Mobiltelefon: 500 kr.
- Datamaskin på ryggen: 14.000 kr.
- Min fars gamle skinnjakke: Ukjent. La oss si 1000 kr.
3280 kr uten laptopen.
17.280 kr med laptopen. Går ikke langs Akerselva med den på ryggen, nei.

Tall is just two letters away from hell
Wed, 08/05/2009 - 16:50 — Tom
No wonder Norwegian public transportation is going downhill when their philosophy is “let us get as many people as possibly into the smallest space possible”. All I ask for, as a person of 191 cm, is 70 cm space from ass to knees. Without that, I am forced to sit with my knees crushed up against the plastic back of the seat in front of me. For an HOUR! This was on an airplane, but is also usual on busses, the metro and many of the newer railways. This is making Norwegian public transportation something of my own personal hell. Any other tall persons in this country probably agree with me. Read more »
