IWNet sucks!

Another day and another game of Modern Warfare 2. I have joined a game, just to get immediately kicked out, because I am "unable to connect to host". What? What?! I don't care, I joined a random server… So I enter the game again, and wait another 59 seconds. And I get kicked out again, this time because it wasn't able to make me host. The third time's the charm, I say, and press the "Join a random Team Deathmatch" button again. 59 more seconds to wait… At 3 seconds to game start, IWNet kicks the five top people, then merges us with another server, and I have to wait another 59 seconds. I am getting a bit annoyed by now, so I walk away to make myself some tea. When I return, the map is finally loading. Yay!

I grab the mouse and keyboard, and start playing. Which is impossible, because my avatar is suddenly janked back. I walk forward, it get yanked back. Goddamit, a sucky host! Then he exits, and IWNet tries to fix its mistake by transfer the server to another player. It fails and kicks everyone back to lobby. Once again I have to press "Join game" then "Team Deathmatch".

And I curse the stupid developers of IWNet.

A few questions to the developers of IWNets stupidity:

  1. Why the crap couldn't they make it possible to create dedicated servers? They could still have the auto-join feature, and IWNet could always prefer joining dedicated servers if available.
  2. Why does IWNet tell me that it is unable to connect to a host? I really don't care; I pressed a button to make it connect to a random host. If it fails (as it usually does), it should immediately try again!
  3. If a group of friends create a party, they should stay together no matter what! No reason to kick one of the players and let the rest into a game. If one or more of a party fails to connect, everyone should fail, and IWNet should try again.
  4. Why do IWNet kick people if they are somehow unable to host? To punish them for something they can't do anything about?
  5. Why do we have to wait for 60 minutes in the lobby before IWNet check if the host is hostable?
  6. Why do we have to wait in the lobby at all? There is nothing to do there! Please add a chat to the lobby.
  7. For the love of all that is gaming, add vote-kick! The cheaters are a plague upon this game…

IWNet is the only flaw in the perfect Pure-Action FPS that is Modern Warfare 2. And the only reason why I hold my breath for the new Battlefield games which is right around the corner.
